JUNE 2025
It was my destiny to become a yogi. My journey began before I ever stepped into a yoga studio. I learned speaking to my parents separately that they both practiced yoga at different points in their lives. I do remember seeing my mom doing these weird stretch exercises every night but she didn’t have a mat and we had hardwood floors at the time, I always wondered if she got bruises from doing that routine. So I believe yoga and I were bound to meet up! After several back surgeries, two of which included a cervical fusion and lumbar fusion I went looking for a gentle exercise routine that would help me recover and heal my back. I found the Sumits Studio and fell in love with the hot yoga 80 minute routine. I remember it was the middle of the summer when I started at Sumits and as many of you know that is a tough time of the year to be in a hot room. I started noticing results quickly, not only with weight loss, increase in flexibility but also in my over all mental peacefulness. I always invite people to go to yoga with me but they immediately say no when I add the word “hot” to the sentence, I just don’t understand – LOL
I can’t say enough positive words about all my friends here at the studio, I’m always greeted warmly when I come in and leave. The variety of the classes allow me to grow as a yogi. One of my favorites is the 26&2 class, Jake has been instrumental in teaching me the correct poses. Your dedication and love shines though! My latest class passion is the yoga sculpt, and Ashley my friend, thank you for always making your class fun and challenging.
My one wish is to sometime in the near future is go to yoga classes with my grandkids. I talk to them all the time about yoga and they are so ready to join me. I’m ready for a class where the generations can take a yoga class together!
I appreciate the discipline of yoga, the way it has restored my health and peacefulness I have gained.
Namaste, Anne
