INSTRUCTOR
My yoga journey began in 2015. I was depressed and a friend who was trying to cheer me up invited to me to a Sumits class. It saved my life, changed my life, and I was hooked! I started taking classes multiple times a week. In 2016, I was coming only sporadically due to life changes. In October 2019, my boyfriend passed away suddenly and I found myself in need of healing which brought me right back to Sumits. This community and family helped me heal from grief and sadness. They gave me hugs, held me through tears, and helped me focus on my breath. January 2023, I made it my goal to come to class consistently for the year. I went on my first yoga retreat with Sumits to Tulum, Mexico that year. It was a life changer! That year turned into coming all the time. I went through 2 hips surgeries in 2024 and yoga asana was one of the only ways that helped me to regain strength and heal completely. As I was healing from the surgeries, I wanted to dive deeper into what yoga is. So, I researched where it began and in August of 2025, I flew to Rishikesh, India, the birthplace of yoga, and spent a month secluded in an ashram in the Himalayas completing my 200-hour YTT from Rishikesh Yogpeeth. I am now a 200 RYT yoga instructor trained in Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga.
My goal is to not only teach asana classes, but to also teach others that yoga is an entire lifestyle that goes beyond the mat. Asanas are only a small piece of the whole of yoga. Practicing this lifestyle daily helps us to come into the yoga mind and recognize our true bliss in life. It also helps us to realize that every day we show up, do our best, and the rest is out of our control. I want to help others to be able to come to a place of no judgement, not just of others, but of ourselves. I want to guide others in yoga so that they can come to a place of peace and love in their mind, hearts, and lives. It would be my honor and joy to teach you all that I have learned and still continue to learn! I welcome everyone to ask questions and to join me on their mat! Peace, love, and light to you all. Namaste!
