It wasn’t love at first practice…growing up with a background in competitive swimming and figure skating, and then transitioning to distance running after college; it’s been about the adrenaline rush – pushing my limits to set new personal records.
It took a couple running injuries and the introduction of hot power vinyasa to change my perception about yoga. The heat, combined with complex sequencing let my body flow, while keeping my mind focused. Leading me to a new level of grounding, one that propelled me to delve deeper into my practice.
A practice that led me to working at a studio part-time and earning my 200-hour yoga certification in 2015. Creating a yin to my yang as a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer (NASM CPT), while also adding additional inspiration to my lifelong passion for health and fitness.
In October 2025, I expanded my practice by completing the Sumits Yoga Sculpt teacher training. This energetic format weaves elements of all my certifications together, opening the door to growth opportunities not only as a teacher, but as a yogi.
Off the mat, I’m a full-time professional in the health care industry, leading internal communications for an organization with over 8500 employees. A demanding, yet rewarding position, where my yoga practice serves as my oasis to disconnect with the outside world and reconnect with myself.
In my classes, I enjoy getting creative with movement and sequencing, challenging yogis to tune into their bodies – as we are our OWN best barometers! The more we listen to our bodies, the more insight we have into our well-being.
