DECEMBER 2024

Starting a yoga practice to seek personal growth and positive change? Yeah right is what I thought. Until I went to check yoga out for the first time at Sumits. I remember my first hot yoga class on Christmas Eve morning, feeling nervous and unsure, but deciding to show up anyway. I thought I might pass out, but somehow, it was in that moment of discomfort that I felt something powerful—like I was exactly where I needed to be…after pouring cold water on myself.

Over the years, my practice came and went. But after returning home from traveling abroad, I made a commitment to myself to make yoga a consistent part of my routine. For the past two years, I’ve practiced several times a week, and through it, I've built new friendships, found peace, and discovered my inner strength. It has taught me the importance of showing up for myself, even when it’s hard. On the mat, I have learned to push through limits, embrace discomfort, and find balance—both in my practice and in my life. This practice has become so much more than just a workout; it’s a place of growth, peace, and love. Grateful for the journey and for Sumits, knowing that every class is a step toward becoming the best version of myself. I encourage you to do the same!
