My yoga journey began the summer of 2020. Like many people during that time, I was looking for something different and something to take my mind off all things COVID. And this was definitely different.
I have always been an active person. As an adult, running has been my go-to workout and mental health outlet. I was never a “workout class” gal. Exercise was always an individual activity for me. Not social at all.
So on a hot sunny afternoon in July, I attended my first Sumits 60 class with Julie teaching and jumped out of my comfort zone. I fell in love immediately. It was the perfect “non-class-like” class. I can shut the rest of the world out and be just me for one wonderful hour. No matter the day of the week, my mood, or my energy level, I can show up and walk out a better, happier person.
